T he poem "Unicorn Lady" by Sumanto

also says that she swims nude and tells the man to
"deal with it."
The poem is full of vivid imagery and symbolism.
The woman's scars are compared to a "memory"
and a "cave," suggesting that they are a part of her
past that she has learned to live with. The unicorn
is a mythical creature that is often seen as a symbol
of purity and innocence. The woman's comparison
of herself to a unicorn suggests that she is still a
beautiful and desirable woman, even though she has
had a mastectomy.
